Black Duck: (Anas rubripes) These are unusual among the surface-feeding species in that the male and female are almost identical. They breed on freshwater and saltwater marshes, often in wooded country. Also on small offshore islands. Their diet includes plant food gathered by dabbling and up-ending, by wading in shallow water, and by grazing on land. |
